While traditional cookies are small text files placed on a device to help digital products function efficiently, Rooted primarily operates as a mobile application and uses equivalent mobile tracking technologies. We are committed to being transparent about these technologies and your choices regarding them.

  • Session tokens — keep you logged in securely during app use
  • Persistent identifiers — help us recognize your device across sessions
  • Analytics SDKs — collect aggregated, pseudonymized usage data (e.g., Firebase)
  • Attribution SDKs — understand how you discovered Rooted (e.g., AppsFlyer)
  • Security tokens — detect and prevent unauthorized access and fraud

Your Choices and Controls

You have control over non-essential tracking:

  • In-app settings — manage analytics and personalization preferences in your Rooted account settings
  • Device settings — use your iOS or Android privacy settings to limit ad tracking and device identifiers
  • Opt-out tools — use AppsFlyer's opt-out page to opt out of attribution tracking
  • Firebase — you can opt out of Firebase Analytics in your device's privacy settings

Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies/tokens may prevent the app from functioning correctly.

Data Retention

Tracking data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described:

  • Session tokens — expire when you log out or after a period of inactivity
  • Analytics data — aggregated data retained for up to 24 months
  • Attribution data — typically 90 days for attribution windows
  • Security logs — retained for up to 12 months for fraud investigation purposes

Children

We do not knowingly use tracking technologies to collect data from children under 13. For users aged 13–17, we limit the use of non-essential tracking technologies and do not use behavioral advertising.
