Acceptable Use Policy

Using Rooted responsibly and with integrity.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the standards of conduct required of all users of the Rooted platform. It applies alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Rooted is built to serve believers sincerely pursuing spiritual growth. This policy protects all users by defining what conduct is and isn't acceptable. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent banning.

Permitted Uses

Personal Spiritual Growth

  • Using devotional tools, Bible study features, and journaling for personal faith development
  • Tracking and reflecting on your spiritual journey over time
  • Setting and pursuing personal Bible reading and prayer goals
  • Engaging with AI-powered features for scripture study and devotional insight

Community Participation

  • Sharing prayer requests and interceding for others on the Prayer Wall
  • Participating in Bible study groups and prayer circles
  • Sharing testimonies, devotional insights, and encouragement
  • Engaging in respectful theological discussion with fellow believers

Content Creation

  • Recording and storing sermon notes and personal revelations
  • Creating and sharing personal journal entries within the app
  • Uploading audio for transcription in SpiritScript (sermons you attended or delivered)
  • Using Bible Playzone features for personal learning and faith games

Prohibited Uses

Harmful or Illegal Activity

  • Any use that violates applicable local, state, federal, or international law
  • Uploading, posting, or transmitting content that promotes violence, terrorism, or illegal activity
  • Attempting to defraud, harm, or exploit other users in any way
  • Using Rooted to facilitate money laundering, financial fraud, or scams
  • Engaging in any activity that violates intellectual property rights

Platform Abuse

  • Creating multiple accounts to evade suspension or bypass restrictions
  • Using automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the platform
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application
  • Overloading or disrupting the platform's infrastructure or services
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Using the platform to mine, harvest, or compile data about other users

Content Violations

  • Uploading pornographic, sexually explicit, or graphic violent content
  • Sharing content that constitutes hate speech or discrimination
  • Deliberately posting false theological claims as absolute doctrinal fact to mislead others
  • Uploading audio or content you did not attend, create, or have permission to record
  • Posting spam, chain messages, advertisements, or unsolicited commercial solicitations
  • Impersonating any person, including other Rooted users, pastors, or Plexodev staff

Security Obligations

All users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account. You must:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your Rooted account
  • Never share your login credentials with anyone
  • Log out of shared devices after each session
  • Report any suspected unauthorized access to your account immediately
  • Not attempt to access or use another user's account under any circumstances

AI Feature Obligations

When using Rooted's AI-powered features (devotionals, Bible study assistant, SpiritScript), you agree:

  • Not to attempt to "jailbreak," manipulate, or circumvent the AI's safety guidelines
  • Not to use AI features to generate content that violates any provision of this AUP
  • Not to use AI outputs for commercial purposes outside of Rooted without written permission
  • To understand that AI-generated content is for enrichment purposes and may not be theologically infallible
  • Not to submit other people's personal or private information as inputs to AI features

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this AUP may result in:

Minor Violations

Warning and content removal

Repeated Violations

Temporary account suspension

Serious Violations

Permanent account termination

Illegal Activity

Reporting to law enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required. Account termination does not relieve you of liability for violations that occurred before termination.

Reporting Violations

If you believe someone is violating this policy, please:

  • Use the in-app "Report" button to flag content or users
  • Email us at legal@plexodev.com for urgent or serious violations
  • Provide as much detail as possible to help our team investigate

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use of Rooted after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
